Pony Racing

The Ledbury Hunt staged two pony races for the first time this year at their rescheduled Point to Point at Maisemore Park.

Nick Slatter won the first race, the 138cm, with a very close finish for the first three home, Jamie Brace was second and Best Ledbury, and Stan Sheppard close on his heels for third place.

The second race, the 148cm, was another fast run race over a slightly longer distance. It was won by Robert William with Willie Twiston-Davies a close second and Charlie Nash third and Best Ledbury.  Camilla Barnes and Sami Jones also had a run.

The West Midland Pony Racing Area started their races on 25 March with the Croome and West Warwickshire meeting and ended on 18 May with the Clifton-on-Teme.  There is a point system run for meetings in the area and at the end of the season Charlie Nash, with his pony Duchess trained by Dick Baimbridge, won the 148cm section. Jamie Brace was second in the 138cm section on his pony Purple Haze, owned by Martin and Jacqui Jones.  Stan Sheppard won the 128cm section on his pony Balfour Moonlight Serenade.  Camilla Barnes, Sami Jones and Charlie Jones also had points.
