Autumn Hunter Trials 2008

The Supporters’ Club held their Autumn Hunter Trials on Sunday 12th October over the Pony Club course at Gadbury,. The course had been altered from last year, the main difference being that for the first time the 2’3” course had been extended to the full distance of the other courses. The glorious weather and near perfect ground conditions meant that entries flocked in and the whole day ran smoothly.

Several of the locals were to the fore with Ledbury people filling the first three places in the mini horse class which was won by Emma Savidge on her young homebred horse, who didn’t live up to his name ‘Maggot’. She also went well when persuaded to enter a bigger class and certainly looks the one to follow this season. Ledbury Pony Club members who also went particularly well were Phoebe Ewens who won the 2’9” pony class and Hannah Cook who finished second and fourth in her class. Also, as has become a recent tradition, the Finch family took home more than their fair share of the silverware with Hazel winning the 2’9” horse class and being best Ledbury pair with Dad, Peter, in their pairs class and with Peter also being best Ledbury in the Open.

Many thanks go to all our helpers - without their support these events could not take place. I hope the fence judges enjoyed sitting in the sunshine – a rarity for this year! The next Supporters’ Club event at Gadbury will be in April and details can be found on the website nearer the time.
