SAVE THE DATE - Sunday 26th March 2017
Gloucester Races, in association with Amlin Plus, provides some of the most exciting horse racing of the Point-to-Point season. Set in Maisemore Park on the banks of the river severn in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, the natural grandstand enjoys spectacular views across to the Cotswolds.
You can expect a great day out for all the family - along with a card of 10 competitive races, including 2 pony races and a new charity ride in aid of the Air Ambulance and Ledbury Hunt, visitors can enjoy a variety of interactive demonstrations and attractions throughout the day including falconry, gun dogs, terrier and ferret racing and a hound parade.
Experience what it’s like to be a jockey on our simulated horse equiciser, brought to you by the National Horseracing Museum in Newmarket. Several demonstrations will take place before racing in the paddock, whilst the more static displays will run throughout the day in the country fair area.
Gates open at 11am. Last race 6pm. General admission £12.50 per person, under 16’s free! For a full event timetable please visit: www.gloucesterraces.co.uk/plan-your-day
With well over 1,000 people coming through the gates, it is a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to get involved and raise their profile. There are numerous sponsorship packages available which can be tailored to the individual's needs. For more information on how to advertise at the Point to Point then please contact Adrian Sparey at email@example.com
New for 2017 is our Country Fair and Shopping Pavilion. Should you wish to bring a trade stand to the meeting then we can accommodate varying sizes of pitch. Space is strictly limited, therefore, trade stands and stalls in the pavilion must be booked in advance, please contact Lucy Lockwood email firstname.lastname@example.org
Maisemore Park is a flat, left handed course situated 3 miles NW of Gloucester, just off the A417 in Maisemore village. Its close proximity to the River Severn meaning it can be easily watered if required. Runners start the 3 mile course half way down the back straight before completing 2.5 circuits of the track and 18 fences. The 2m4f maiden race begins at the start of the home straight. The bends are all railed and along with the fences, they can be moved in or out to provide the best racing ground.
There is a large, flat paddock with permanent rails and a separate winners enclosure at one end.
Owners receive one car pass (admits 2 adults) per horse entered, and a complimentary race card upon declaration. In order to receive your car pass, please ensure that you enclose a stamped, addressed envelope with your entry fee and form.
The Ledbury is proud to offer the maximum prize money allowed under the rules of point to point racing and the winning owners receive some wonderful keep sake mementoes to remind them of their successful day at Maisemore Park.
Winning Jockeys also receive a memento, and there is a cash prize for the winner of the best turned out horse in each race.
